LATEST NEWS SPECIAL ...... A Living Legend              

In 2001 when I was asked to my first BMF dinner I had no idea that a man called Demos Shakarian had existed let alone the impact that he had on so many peoples lives through Christ.

 

So to meet a man that not only new Demos but worked alongside him as one of his team was a great honour.

 

Ronny Svenhard would not accept this, as he is not that type of man a humble and thoughtful servant of Christ he sat for most of the morning taking notes. But just before lunch Ronny treated us to an insight into the world of Demos Shakarian through his eyes.

 

Ronny “ I worked with Demos for nine years three of these personally with Demos on daily basis, twenty people worked at the centre and even though Demos had suffered with a stroke he was still functioning as the leader.  I was the Administration Coordinator.

 

So what was the great man like…..

 

“I remember how so many times two men would argue over issues with totally different views but once Demos got involved it would all be sorted and both men would work together. He just had to put his arm around them and there would be smiles and unity again.”

 

After Demos death those differing views came to the surface more and more and in 1995 a change occurred.

 

“ A 150 men met in Kansas City all leaders from the FGB days attended and a word was given that a new Harvest Machine was being created. We were given a new mandate and we have been following that new vision for the last 15 years.”

 

Ronny’s main role now is to be a Global Ambassador for the BMF. So what does Ronny think of the future for the BMF.

 

“The work is developing especially here in the UK it’s great to see new young leaders like Stephen Turnbull. It is also so encouraging to see Allan Jones still working for the Lord recently in the USA and Canda Allan has never quit and is an example to us all.”

 

Ronny also gave the Council a word from Isaiah 37 – In which it says a remnant will emerge and take root with a fruit then taking place.

 

I’m sure we are all praying and believing for that to take place in the days ahead just as it did in Demos Shakarian and Ronny Svenhards day!
